In 1920, Ernest Guillet acquired the Nougaterie du Roy René in the heart of Aix-en-Provence. The Nougaterie Roy René diversified and expanded, and in 1973, under the management of René Guillet , the son of Ernest, the firm that had become “Calisson du Roy René” in 1950 set up its factory in the commercial centre of La Pioline and was established as a leading producer of calissons.
